*MTA* (Mineral Trioxide Aggregate) is a material primarily used in endodontic dentistry for procedures such as *apicoectomy*, **pulpotomy*, and *sealing of root perforations. Its main function is to promote *tissue regeneration* and seal the treated areas, promoting healing in procedures where the tooth structure has been compromised. At Equilibrio Dental, we use it as an alternative in many cases to endodontic treatments using other techniques. It is not applicable in all cases, but it is in most!

Biological Impact of MTA:

1. *Bioactivity*: MTA is biocompatible and has bioactive properties. Upon contact with biological fluids, it forms a hydroxyapatite layer that aids in the regeneration of hard tissues such as bone and dental cementum.
